Georgian mahogany pembroke table after a design by Gillow of Lancaster and London, as published in 1787.
Rectangular top with a folding leaf, to the other side a pair of brass spring catches release the other leaf which opens down to reveal a cupboard.
Stands upon square tapered legs.
The perfect solution for informal meals taken in the drawing room.
The original Gillow’s drawing describes it as a ‘deception table’.
