A fine & unusual English George III mahogany bookcase of excellent flame veneers, colour & patina. The moulded cornice with inverted bell drop flame mahogany frieze over a pair of astragal glazed doors which open to reveal an adjustable three shelf bookcase section. Below the base is of a very pretty and unusual kneehole design with gadrooned upper lip over an arrangement of three flame mahogany, oak lined drawers either side of a central drawer and recessed arched door which opens to reveal a cupboard section with central shelf. The drawers are fitted with Sheraton circular plate loop drop handles. The bookcase stands on quad shaped front bracket feet. One of the best looking and most unusual bookcases we have seen for a long time, excellent quality colour & patina throughout.
